Dallas Shopping Weekend

Oh My Goodness! We had such a fabulous time in Dallas shopping with Granny on Friday and Saturday!

Chatty visited the American Girl doll store. She was thrilled to see the different dolls, their clothes and accessories, and the excitement of all the little girls carrying their own dolls and looking for more! The store was extremely crowded Friday morning... we found out there was going to be a 6 year old birthday party/luncheon upstairs!

Chatty stayed in the car while Granny & Momma shopped at Joann's. They had their Simplicity patterns on sale (5 for $5) ... and this is what we got: 3551, 3520, 4654, 4364, and 5284 will be shared with the grandson's - it's a backpack! (You can see them at: http://simplicity.com/). Each pattern has unique qualities, but since they are all from Simplicity, pieces and parts can be easily interchanged to create even more new looks!

On Saturday, Chatty stayed home. Granny & Momma went to a quaint shop in Duncanville, Pursley's, that offers all sorts of trim and ribbons and fabrics. We bought SEVERAL pieces of fabric and bunches of trim! This is in addition to the trim purchased the day before at Joann's! And, all the cutie trims Auntie Linda found and mailed to Granny & Papo's !!! The package arrived just in time to bring home!

Then, before dashing out the door to head back to the ranch, I checked a couple of boxes of Granny's fabric stash. I found a couple of pieces that will be perfect for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day! And, this was after (the night before) cleaning out three of Granny's sewing cabinet drawers full of trim!

We had a great time in Dallas... visiting and shopping... but we are so glad to be home!

Not to mention designs to sell on Ebay!!!

Why am I typing? I should be sewing!

If the weather holds...

Chatty, Momma, and Granny are going shopping on Friday! The first stop will be the American Girl doll store up by the Galleria. We are hoping to find panties and socks and tights that will fit Chatty! Momma hates making panties and she won't even try making socks or tights!

The next few stops will be places like Joann's and Michaels and Hobby Lobby to find laces, trims, buttons, and other embellishments for Chatty's new clothes. We will also keep an eye out for an Easter basket of appropriate size.

Overall's almost like Papo's!

Chatty's overalls are made from a pair of Granny's old jeans!

Getting ready for Spring!

Made with a poly/cotton blend, the print has seated tiny white birds mixed with flowers throughout. The front has a special interest yoke insert that runs the length of her dress.
A satin rose accents the Peter Pan collar. Puffed sleeves edged with lace trim and picot satin ribbon ties into delicate bows on each arm and matches the trim along the hemline. The coordinating hat is also trimmed with the narrow picot satin ribbon.

The above small royal blue and white check poly cotton bodice has an attached apron that covers the white poplin skirt. Peter Pan collar and armholes are edged with a delicate lace. The red baby rick-rack trims the collar and hem. A grosgrain white sash ties in a bow in the back.

The 100% cotton sundress and matching hat below is covered with pink, blue, green, lavender spring bouquets. White baby rick-rack accents the square neckline and hem.

This chambray blue dress has flitters of white throughout. It is accented with a scalloped eyelet ruffle around the scooped neckline. White grosgrain ribbon ties in the back.
